India launches National Digital Tourism Stack as open DPI with AI front-end
Editorial Analysis
The Ministry of Tourism launched the National Digital Tourism Stack, an open digital public infrastructure developed with ONDC and ICDIA support, to make tourism offerings more discoverable, accessible and trustworthy across platforms. AI is positioned at the front end for personalised planning, multilingual access and unified discovery of experiences, homestays and services, targeting 23,000 offerings by end-2028 with a pilot from January 2027. This extends India's digital public infrastructure approach into tourism, addressing fragmentation in bookings and enabling credentialed supply-side participation by states, providers and platforms.
