Apollo to finance $15B AI data center project in Japan with JERA, Dell, RHAELM

Apollo Global Management will serve as strategic investment and financing partner for a more than $15 billion AI infrastructure project in Chiba Prefecture. The venture pairs JERA’s power generation with Dell’s rack-scale AI systems and RHAELM’s development expertise at a site adjacent to JERA’s thermal power station, targeting up to 400 MW capacity with operations starting around 2028. The project is positioned to strengthen Japan’s domestic AI capacity and serve as a model for larger national-scale deployments.
