Anthropic releases Claude Haiku 5.5 at substantially lower cost

Anthropic launched Claude Haiku 5.5 on October 7 as its cheapest and fastest small model, with average run costs around 75 percent lower than Haiku 4.5 and new pricing of $0.10 input and $0.50 output per million tokens for prompts up to 100k tokens. The release also halves Sonnet 5.5 cache-read prices. This intensifies competition in high-volume, cost-sensitive inference and agent workloads.
