IBM and NASA release open-source Lunar Foundation Model

IBM and NASA jointly released an open-source foundation model trained on multi-mission lunar observation data to assist crater mapping, ice deposit detection, and landing site analysis for Artemis. Benchmarks showed up to 23% higher accuracy on key surface features versus prior methods. The release expands domain-specific AI tools for scientific and space applications.
