Mistral launches regional inference, third-party open models and European compute coalition
Editorial Analysis
Mistral made generally available Regional Endpoints allowing customers to run inference in Europe or the US, introduced a Priority Tier with SLA-backed capacity in public preview, and began supporting third-party open models on its platform starting with Z.ai’s GLM-5.2. It also formed a coalition of enterprises to aggregate multi-year commitments for European compute capacity, targeting up to 1 GW by 2030 via European Compute Units. The steps expand sovereign AI options by combining regional control, model choice and long-term infrastructure access.
