Nvidia developing 1-trillion-parameter Nemotron 4 open model family

Nvidia is developing a new open-model family, Nemotron 4, with the largest version expected to have at least 1 trillion parameters, according to a report citing people familiar with the project. The company has not set a release date and has not completed final training, though employees indicated it could be ready as early as late fall. Nvidia confirmed it is investing in Nemotron to provide accessible frontier open models and separately released Nemotron 3.5 Lightning alongside an open-source model-routing library (NeMo Switchyard).
