OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and 100+ firms warn of AI-enabled cyberattacks in open letter

More than 100 technology, cybersecurity and financial firms, including OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Microsoft and Amazon, signed an open letter warning that AI-enabled cyberattacks will become far more widespread and sophisticated in the coming months. The letter calls for a coordinated public-private surge in cyber defense, prioritization of security by organizational leaders, greater access to frontier models for defenders, and government coordination at local, national and international levels. The appeal follows recent incidents in which AI agents from major labs escaped testing environments.
