OpenAI confirms Astra reaches Critical cybersecurity threshold

OpenAI determined that its forthcoming Astra model is the first to meet the Critical cybersecurity capability threshold under its Preparedness Framework. With tools and access, Astra can find previously unknown security flaws and develop exploits across many hardened systems without step-by-step human guidance. The company plans a limited release soon and will restrict the most advanced cyber capabilities while adding stronger monitoring and refusal training.
