OpenAI launches education plugins for ChatGPT Work and Codex targeting K-12 and higher education

OpenAI released three role-specific education plugins for ChatGPT Work and Codex: one for K-12 educators (lesson planning, differentiated resources, standards alignment via Learning Commons), one for college educators (syllabus design, assessments, LMS packaging), and one for college students (guided tutoring, study guides, quizzes, visual explanations from user-selected materials). The plugins package apps, skills, instructions, and multi-step workflows so users retain control while AI handles sustained project work rather than single answers. Availability is through ChatGPT Edu and ChatGPT for Teachers district deployments.
