Pentagon adds ChatGPT Mil and Grok for Government to GenAI.mil

The U.S. Department of Defense expanded its GenAI.mil enterprise portal by adding tailored versions of OpenAI’s ChatGPT (ChatGPT Mil) and xAI’s Grok (Grok for Government / Starshield AI), joining the existing Google Gemini offering. The tools provide secure access for more than three million military and civilian personnel to frontier models for planning, logistics, administration and other unclassified work. The addition underscores the Pentagon’s multi-vendor approach after its earlier dispute with Anthropic and aims to accelerate AI use while maintaining Impact Level 5 security controls.
