Top 1% firms spend $7,400 per employee on AI, Ramp Index shows

According to Ramp’s AI Index, the top 1 percent of US companies reached a median spend of $7,400 (approximately Rs 7 lakh) per employee on AI tools, up sharply from $2,590 in January. The top 10 percent spent $650 per employee while the overall median remained only $11.95. Anthropic led business adoption at 43.5 percent, followed by OpenAI at 39.7 percent, with growing use of open-source and Chinese models among heavier users. The data highlights widening divergence in AI investment intensity across firms.
