Google commits 13 billion euros to AI infrastructure and nuclear power in Finland

Google announced a 13 billion euro (15.1 billion dollar) investment over 2027-2028 in Finnish AI data-center infrastructure across Hamina, Kajaani, Muhos, and Vaala. This is its largest single European commitment. It also includes a 22-year power-purchase agreement for up to 50 percent of output from the Loviisa nuclear plant. The package includes grid, renewable, and battery projects to support growing AI compute demand. This materially expands European hyperscale capacity tied to carbon-free power.
